The Backpack Program
At Gracious Helpers Foundation, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue. Our “Backpack Program” is to provide hunger relief to families with children in Saint Louis Metropolitan Region. The pandemic has increased food insecurities among families with children, who already faced hunger at much higher rates before the pandemic, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.

Meet The Team
April Jackson, CEO/Founder
Ms. April Jackson is the Founder and CEO of Gracious Helpers Foundation, a community driven, non-profit organization dedicated to assisting underserved families with children who resides in Saint Louis, MO. Born and raised in Saint Louis, April attended elementary and high school in the area and participated in community programs throughout the region.
April was brought up in a Christian household where education was very important and taught to be powerful; after graduating from high school, April obtained her Bachelor's of Science Health Administration degree from the University of Phoenix. In addition to operating Gracious Helpers Foundation, she is the owner of a Six-Figure Cleaning Company, active participant in multiple community service projects, and works at the local hospital with an equipment management company.
There is a great population of crime, social and economic issues in many Saint Louis neighborhoods; many families are incarcerated or victims of the city’s senseless violence, homeless and/or unemployed. With her own personal encounter with life’s unfortunate circumstances, such as being in foster homes, understanding the importance of family and education, it is her desire to take part and strive for a change.
After years of contemplation and having the goal of launching a non-profit organization benefiting her community, by keeping families together, healthy and happy. Gracious Helpers Foundation was founded in January 2021. In July of 2021, the organization became a fully formed 501(C)(3) with great support from her community, family and friends.

“Remember that the happiest people are not those getting more, but those giving more.”
H. Jackson Brown Jr.
